Knkt Digital Pty Ltd Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. It is Knkt Digital Pty Ltd's policy to respect your privacy and comply with applicable Australian law regarding personal information we collect about you. This includes our marketing website at https://claras.ai, related Knkt sites such as https://knkt.com.au, and the Claras product application (the "Services").

Personal information is information about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. That can include name, email, device and usage data, payment details, and information about how you use a website or online service.

If our site links to third-party sites or services (for example demo booking or help centre), those sites have their own privacy policies. This policy does not cover what happens after you leave our Services.

This policy is effective as of 18 February 2024.

Last updated: 17 July 2026.

Who we are

Knkt Digital Pty Ltd (ABN available on request) operates Claras, an AI-assisted platform for Australian financial advice practices. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" mean Knkt Digital Pty Ltd.

Marketing website and product application

We describe collection in two places because they work differently:

  • Marketing website (claras.ai public pages): browsing, demo requests, blog, pricing, and related marketing pages.
  • Product application (signed-in Claras): practices, team members, clients, meetings, file notes, documents, billing, and integrations.

Information we collect

Information falls into two categories: information you provide, and information collected automatically.

Information you provide

Depending on how you use the Services, this may include:

  • Name, email address, and contact details
  • Practice or business name, role, and team invitations
  • Account credentials and multi-factor authentication setup details
  • Billing and subscription details (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers)
  • Messages you send us (for example support chat, email, or demo requests)
  • Content you upload or generate in the product, such as client records, meeting recordings or transcripts, attachments, file notes, documents, templates, and related metadata

Where you upload or process information about your clients or other third parties, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so (including any consent or notice your professional obligations require).

Information collected automatically

When you visit or use the Services, we and our providers may collect:

  • Device and browser data (for example IP address, browser type, operating system)
  • Usage data (pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP, referral source, campaign parameters)
  • Error and diagnostic logs to keep the Services reliable
  • Cookie and similar technology identifiers (see Use of cookies)

How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Services
  • Create and manage accounts, trials, and subscriptions
  • Process payments, prevent fraud, and manage billing (including pay as you go usage metering where applicable)
  • Generate AI-assisted outputs you request (for example file notes and documents) using content you supply
  • Provide support, onboarding help, and product communications you request or that are needed to run your account
  • Measure marketing performance, attribute referrals, and improve our website and campaigns (where you have allowed analytics and marketing cookies)
  • Comply with law and protect our legal rights

AI processing

Claras uses third-party AI model providers to generate and refine content from the material you supply. Those providers process content as needed to deliver the feature you use. We configure providers under our contracts and security settings. You should not upload content you are not allowed to process with service providers.

Where your practice enables optional privacy features (such as personal information redaction before model processing), those settings apply as described in the product.

Disclosure to third parties

We use service providers to operate Claras. They only receive what they need to perform their services for us. Categories and current providers include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel (web application hosting), Supabase (database, authentication, storage)
  • Payments: Stripe
  • Product and marketing analytics: PostHog (product events and diagnostics in the app; marketing pageviews, conversion events, and sampled session replay on the public site after you accept analytics cookies; hosted in the EU region for our workspace)
  • Website analytics and marketing tags: Google Tag Manager and related Google measurement tags (marketing site, when you accept analytics cookies), Vercel Analytics
  • Referral and affiliate tracking: Dub
  • Sales website tracking: Apollo (marketing site, when you accept analytics cookies)
  • Customer support: Plain (in-app and website support chat where enabled)
  • Demo booking: Cal.com (when you book a demo; their site applies when you leave claras.ai)
  • Email and lifecycle messaging: Loops or similar email providers we use for product and marketing email
  • Observability: logging and tracing providers used to operate and debug the Services (for example Axiom)
  • AI model providers: such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and other model hosts we configure for generation features
  • Integrations you connect: for example Microsoft 365 / Teams calendar and recording features, and other connectors you enable

We may also disclose personal information to:

  • our employees, contractors, and professional advisers
  • regulators, courts, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect rights and safety
  • a buyer or successor if we sell or transfer our business or assets

International transfers

We aim to host core application data in Australia where practical. Some providers process data in other countries (for example EU or US regions used by analytics, AI, or support tools). When we transfer personal information overseas, we take steps consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including contractual and organisational safeguards where appropriate.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for using available security features (such as multi-factor authentication).

How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Services, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete it or de-identify it where practical. Retention for practice content may also follow settings your practice configures in the product.

We use cookies and similar technologies (including local storage, pixels, and scripts) on the marketing website and, where relevant, the product.

Essential cookies
Required to run the Services: for example authentication, security, load balancing, and remembering essential preferences such as cookie choice. These do not require optional consent.

Analytics and performance cookies
Help us understand how the website and product are used (for example page views, navigation, errors). On the marketing site these include PostHog, Vercel Analytics, and tags loaded through Google Tag Manager, after you choose Accept all. In the signed-in product, PostHog may load for feature flags and product operation. Session replay (including on the product) and marketing-site analytics still require Accept all.

Marketing, sales, and referral cookies
Help us measure campaigns, attribute referrals, and understand sales interest. On the marketing site these include Dub (referral links) and Apollo (website visitor tracking for sales), after you choose Accept all.

On the marketing site and public pages, non-essential analytics and marketing tools (including marketing-site PostHog, GTM, Apollo, Dub, and Vercel Analytics) load only after you select Accept all on our cookie banner. If you choose Essential only, we do not load those optional tools, and we do not start session recording. You can reopen the banner any time via Cookie settings in the site footer (or clear site data in your browser).

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. You can also control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some features.

For general cookie information, see allaboutcookies.org.
